My Party Fell Through so got Drunk
I was supposed to have a party tonight at my place but it sort of fell apart due to the rain. The job site was muddy by 2:30 so we got off work early and me and the boys went to this Mexican bar in the Mission to kick a few back in Friday celebration and DAMN, them fuckers could drink. Three short round Mexicans with cash in hand drank my sorry thin ass under the table. And there was tequila for the
barmaid and music on the jukebox and people coming in from the rain and Emiliano Zapata on the wall and I was eight beers under when I got on the BART train to pass out soundly in my seat.
I woke up well past my stop slumped against the window on a crowded rush hour train and puked all over myself in my seat. I remained calm. The older business woman sitting next to me appeared appalled as she got up to change seats rather quickly. I couldn't help but notice helplessly the chunks on my sweatshirt that was my lunch and that I had become that guy on the train. It was 5:15.
I staggered out at the next stop and swayed there on the wet platform removing my sweatshirt and attempting to maintain public decency. I so wanted to walk over to the sunken rails and just hurl right there in front of everyone but I was doing well standing alone so I kept with it. The next train went a bit smoother. I kept it all inside this time but christ, covered in mud and smelling of my stomach certainly must have been a treat for the other passengers gifted with my presence. (just my presence because the other train got my real presents, boo ya!)
Anyway, I dragged myself to my apartment on sheer will and exhausted, made my prayers to the porcelain gods and tucked myself into bed. At 11:00 I woke to the sound of the phone ringing, a headache and people trying to get in downstairs for the party. I told em it got rained out and there's a nice bar two doors to their left that they might enjoy instead.
Three cheers for the big talk light weight and BART, who probably lost another rider today, but got me home all the same.
